Cozumel Island Transfers, S. de R.L. de C.V. (“we”, “us”) operates www.cozumelislandtransfers.com (the “Site”). This page explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. What we collect

When you book a transfer through our Site, we collect the information you give us in the booking form:

• Your name and contact details (email, WhatsApp/phone)
• Trip details: pickup date and time, return time, cruise ship name, destination, passenger count, special notes

We also collect basic technical data when you visit (IP-derived approximate location, browser type, pages viewed) through Netlify’s server logs and, if enabled, Netlify Analytics. We do not run third-party advertising cookies or trackers.

2. Why we collect it

• To dispatch your driver and confirm your booking
• To follow your ship’s arrival using the port authority’s published schedule, and to check it again before your pickup
• To contact you about your trip (changes, confirmations, follow-up)
• To comply with Mexican tax and tourism-operator record-keeping requirements
• To improve the Site (aggregate analytics, no individual profiling)

3. Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with:

• Our drivers — name, pickup time, destination, ship name, contact phone
• Netlify (our hosting and form provider, headquartered in the US) — handles Site delivery and booking-form storage
• Stripe (when payment is enabled in a future release) — processes card payments under their own privacy terms
• Mexican tax authorities (SAT) when legally required

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not share with cruise lines, beach clubs, or third-party tour operators.

4. How long we keep it

Booking records are retained for 5 years in accordance with Mexican tax and accounting law. Marketing emails (when you opt in) are retained until you unsubscribe. Site analytics are retained for 30 days (Netlify default).

5. Your rights

You can request:

• A copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction of incorrect data
• Deletion of your data (where not required for tax/legal retention)
• Withdrawal of consent to receive marketing

6. Children

Our service is sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 booking on their own behalf.

7. Cookies

The Site sets no cookies of its own. The booking flow keeps a session id in your browser’s sessionStorage so a refresh does not lose your place; it is deleted when you close the tab and cannot follow you to any other site. Our analytics is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures at the edge, is cookieless, and stores nothing on your device. We do not run advertising or social-media re-targeting cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on its hosted checkout page when you pay; those are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.

8. International transfers

Our data processors (Netlify, Cloudflare, Stripe) are headquartered outside Mexico. By using the Site, you consent to your data being processed in those jurisdictions under their standard contractual protections.

9. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
